.For this project I wanted to do scratch board to make a portrait of my loving animals. It was a tough decision but decided on my cat for this project. I have always loved scratch board and the ease of adding details into it makes for great pieces. I like being detail-oriented so scratch board is very fun for me personally. The sketches were by far the hardest part because getting these pictures were difficult. The cat was especially hard because getting his attention for just a picture was maddening in the most. I think that is why I wanted to make his so bad because of what I had to do to get it. So I get my scratch board and zoomed in a bit when I did a base outline in white pencil. After that I went over this with the xacto knife to reveal the white beneath. For the white fur I scratched off more and for the dark hair I made slightly less marks to indicate it. All the dark areas were also made in groups of lines to show the furry texture of my cat. Lastly, the color I made patchwork patterns to indicate the metallic texture and distinguish it from the fur. Overall I think this piece turned out very well and the textures turned out good as well. One thing I thought I could do better would be the eyes, Compared to the rest of it the eyes lacked the same amount of detail I like to incorporate.
