I believe artwork is a means of communication by the artist. I see art as a form of expression and, as such, the artist can easily communicate feelings they had when making the artwork. As for my artwork, I do wish to communicate through it to. For the artwork I make, I like to give a hidden beauty to the works of art that I find to be my "true" pieces. I want others to view my as an artist who can see beauty in things one wouldn't find initially appealing in that way. Many of my morbid artworks have a disturbing appeal that makes you observe it more than one would think. Because of this, my artworks may be a little off putting at first glance, but have more upon examination. This idea of 'morbid beauty' is what drives me to experiment with different techniques to create such things. These range from bodily horror to twisting the concepts of everyday life into something else. Many of my artworks can have certain emotions and symbols transferred into it. One of my summer pieces, although creepy, symbolizes the seven deadly sins which are all just twisted and perverted emotions that make us human beings. Emotions like pride is good for people's self-esteem twists into a perverse narcissism. The since of twisted or haunting beauty is what I think is good art for me and others who wish to practice this. What makes good artwork for everyone is putting their feelings and emotions into their work. Not only can it create beautiful works of art if done right, it can also make for a way to relieve anxiety and stress. In closing, art to me is an outlet to express ideas and emotions in positive and creative ways.
