For my reflection project I decided to do something more interpretive than just some reflective objects in a setting. Originally, one of my ideas involved the reflection of a coke bottle in water at a beach. The background involved beach goers as well as things you would normally see like shovels or sand castles. My other idea consisted of of a mirror and I little bit of imagination. The mirror would be against my face in different areas of my head, reflecting my inner imagination. I felt like this one meant more to me as it more represented how my specialty seems to be for creating various fantasy creatures and monsters. It was how I began to draw when I was very little and is how I still draw today, albeit improved overtime. I decided on the lower part of the face as I wanted something to do with altering the mouth and jaw a bit. The outside of the mirror was completely normal aside from a few colors changes. The PC was normally black with a mostly black screen saver as it was looking out of a cave on a beach. I decided to add some color to both the screen saver and PC edges while still keeping the small amount of beach scenery within it. The headphones and pad were done in colors they normally look like with few alterations. The most challenging part of the piece itself was making sure that no two colors were together, as it would improperly define shapes. What I did like about the piece though was how the mirrored "inner self" turned out. I was going to add more but decided against to prevent crowding it up. The tubes in the reflection were essentially pumping me full of ideas both fantastical and morbid. Overall, for the first piece in AP art, I am glad how it turned out and how I was able to do something more close to what I like to do.
